Cult Collective is now seeking an experienced Senior Strategist to join our team.

Whether it’s identifying innovative ideas to increase brand advocacy, finding new ways to boost employee engagement, or recognizing how to generate alternative revenue, the ideal candidate sees opportunities others don’t see, and can do things others aren’t able to do. Additionally - and perhaps most importantly - the ideal candidate is never afraid to speak up and fight for what they believe in. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The right candidate will yearn to develop a deeper understanding of the ‘dark arts of cult branding’. They must devote themselves to becoming masterful at applying our 8 proven cult brand principles, and be talented enough, and persuasive enough, to lead our clients on a journey that maximizes their internal and external audience engagement strategies.
  • Be a strategic generalist and rational thinker that can work through a variety of different client problems and provide logical solutions
  • Work alongside clients to uncover business needs and objectives, as well as identify and implement strategies to help achieve client goals
  • Execute and/or support in the execution of a broad variety of work types: planning, brand strategy, campaign planning, competitive and market analyses, creative briefing, trends analysis, insights generation, connections planning, etc.
  • Provide general support to the Chief Strategy Officer in the development of client solutions as required
  • Be the ‘big brain’ in the room that Engagement Advisors call upon to inform client engagements
  • Be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Rebrand the current offering? Repurpose the workstreams as a corporate social responsibility / community outreach marketing asset? Other?
  • A hyper-growth B2B brand wants to create more obvious differentiation given parity value propositions from new competitors.
  • An ambitious and wildly successful female CEO wants to become akin to the next Arlene Dickenson (i.e. a Canadian CEO celebrity adored by millions for a strong POV and enviable business success). How can she build a personal brand platform?
  • A multi-billion health care provider wants to transcend their category and become beloved throughout their market. What is the best way to do that?

If you really want to impress our Chief Strategy Officer (Spoiler Alert: he’ll be your boss), perhaps you’ll find a unique way to demonstrate your enviable brand and marketing credentials or share some of your thinking on one or more of those realistic scenarios when you apply so he can get to know you better.


  • 10+ years of consultative and/or agency-side experience
  • Be experienced with both B2B and B2C industries
  • Proven expertise executing campaigns across a variety of categories and communications tactics 
  • Be intrapreneurial, meaning possess have many enviable characteristics of entrepreneurs in how they think about business and applying diverse skill sets to tough problems, yet want to be part of a bigger team and apply existing IP rather than develop their own and do all the heavy lifting of building a large book of business on their own
  • Be a great addition to the culture within our organization, meaning they are comfortable with ambiguity, thrive on creative problem solving, and share our bold ambitions
  • Be willing and eager to collaborate in person and/or virtually.  Our office is located in Calgary - however, if you reside elsewhere, say Vancouver, Toronto, or elsewhere and choose to stay there, we won’t hold it against you.  Since we are not offering paid relocation at this time, this position may work remotely.  Preference will be given to candidates residing in Canada.
